What has been your experience with OpenStax University Physics? I use OpenStax College Physics for my algebra-based physics course and my colleagues have not switched to OTOpenStax doesn't have the depth we need for full mechanics courses, as far as I've seen. More for survey first year courses (Agnes. Note that I teach second year, rigid-body dynamics). LW

It may or may not be addressed so I'll go ahead and ask: how easy is it educators/students/institutions to use WebWork?In terms of set-up of a server, there are some options that make it easier (like paying MAA for server space). Using existing problems is fairly easy. Creating problems is not technically difficult, but takes a lot of time. Student have been very positive about WW. We have thousands of student users at UBC, mostly in MATH, but also ECON, Engineering, statistics, etc. LW(If you want to chat about setting up WW offline, happy to do so!) My colleagues in the math department have had friction in getting a server set up but I am hoping to help them if we also have buy in for physical sciences department tooAll of the OpenStax Physics problems have been coded into WW, FYI! There are a number of schools that seem to piggyback on other institutiions' servers. Not sure about how that works technically. LW

I teach astronomy and algebra-based physics at my community college but we are hiring a new calc-based physics tenure-track faculty member this year and I want to get a question about this in our hiring process. It was a no-go to convince my 80-year-old colleague to switch textbooks in the few years before he retired this summer! We're happy to help share problems/demo WW/etc. if we can help get people using the problems/system. The more people using WW in this area, the more problem generation is going to happen ultimately.LW

Are you aware of OER resources for electrical engineering classes? Thanks! :)Yes, I know of some. We've got some WW problems (various subjects). And there are some other materials we've been gathering on OER Commons, in the CEEA group. Are the individual figures generated here also available (e.g. for slides, etc) with attribution? Follow-up question: is there a way to access the figures outside of WW? (Just PNG or JPG seems fine)Yes, they are all licensed CC BY. We're using GitHub to both work on the project, and will post them for use there too. https://github.com/ubc-mech2/OER-mechanics-webwork (Note that some of the problems here are still in testing, etc.) We will have the illustrator files as well, but I'm not sure of the plan on how to share those.
